For those who haven't figured it out yet, my name is Scott Lerman. I'm a Computer Science graduate student, and can therefore be found in front of my computer most of the time.
I'm a retired percussionist (a.k.a. drummer) from the Pride of Maine Black Bear Marching Band and the Screamin' Black Bear Pep Band. I've been on the big screens at two NHL arenas (FleetCenter in Boston and Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota) and have had several appearances on national television, including a close-up while entering the FleetCenter during ESPN's pregame at the 2004 Frozen Four championship game.
I've lived in Portland ("the Big City") all my life, and graduated from Deering High School in 1998.
Sex: Sure, sounds good to me
Gender: Male (I hope you figured that out already. The picture of me isn't that bad, is it?)
Height: 5'11" (6'0" on a good day)
Weight: About 180, I guess. I've definitely lost weight now that I don't eat on campus.
Eyes: My driver's license says brown, other people have said green-ish and/or multicolored
Hair: Brown (that was an easy one for a change)
Birthday: Mid-winter, 1980. I'm always afraid of people making too big a deal out of my birthday, so I try not to make the actual date common knowledge
Favorite color: Red and/or blue. Sometimes purple.
Favorite movies: Spaceballs (and any other Mel Brooks movie), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and other such bizarre comedies.
Favorite books: Just about anything by R.A. Salvatore, such as the Dark Elf Series, Cleric Quintet, DemonWars Saga, Chronicles of Ynis Aielle, and Crimson Shadow Trilogy; Fred Saberhagen's Books of Swords; Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
Favorite television shows: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (the most reliable news source on television), Babylon 5, anything hockey.
Other hobbies: Computer gaming ("Hey David, maybe we should study for our test tomorrow and then get some sleep. Or we could play Starcraft instead"), bowling, card games, experimenting with mixing of alcohol (Just ask for my Werther's recipe), and just sitting around being bored.
My car: Red 2000 Ford Taurus Station Wagon. Holds 8 people legally.
Relationship status: She's cute, she's smart, and hopefully much more sane than the last one
"This was another favorite teaching of [Rabbi Hillel]:
If I am not for me, who will be?
If I am for myself alone, what am I?
And if not now, when?"
